Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of content on Hamilton County Criminal History. Using the website means accepting all terms stated here. Anyone who does not agree should stop using it.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). It is a reference for Hamilton County and New York record channels, not a private investigator or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no connection to a public office. It does not keep official records, retrieve them for visitors, conduct official checks, or submit legal papers.

Its purpose is to identify the Hamilton County Sheriff, the courts, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, the New York State Sex Offender Registry, and outside research tools that may serve a particular inquiry.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is conditioned on the following limits. You will not:

  • Use automated scraping tools or bots against the pages
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass anyone with information found here
  • Interfere with access, site speed, or another visitor's use
  • Make hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions from site content
  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
  • Violate federal, New York, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information from this website or a linked tool may be used to intimidate, stalk, threaten, harass, or unlawfully discriminate. New York Correction Law §168-p specifically limits misuse of New York State Sex Offender Registry information. Registry data supports public safety awareness and does not authorize vigilantism, illegal discrimination, or harassment.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produce no credit report, consumer report, or official background check. Our services and those promoted here are not offered for decisions regulated by the FCRA. You will not use data obtained here to:

  • Set credit or insurance terms
  • Evaluate a housing application
  • Make an employment decision
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or public program
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A legally required check must use the official, authorized channel or a service that complies with the FCRA and other applicable law.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. A licensed New York attorney should address how a Hamilton County charge, conviction, warrant, or record sealing law applies to a particular case.

6. No Warranties

All content is provided "as is." No promise is made that:

  • A partner's result will be accurate or complete
  • The website will remain continuously available
  • Every item is current, complete, and correct
  • The pages contain no error, bug, or security weakness

Charges, dispositions, and sealing status can change. Gaps and delays are possible, and no website statement should replace a current answer from the court, Sheriff, DCJS, or another originating agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to public offices, court systems, state agencies, legal resources, and outside search services that we do not control. Their availability, pricing, content, and privacy practices are their responsibility. Review their terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Hamilton County Criminal History or its content partners own the text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required to copy, alter, distribute, or create derivative work from that material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for damages tied to this website, its information, or any linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims or demands caused by your use of the site or breach of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

New York law governs these terms, including applicable state consumer-protection rules. Public access to Hamilton County agency records is separately governed by the New York Freedom of Information Law, Public Officers Law Article 6, while court-file access follows Judiciary Law §255. A dispute concerning use of this website must be brought in a court located in New York.

12. Changes to These Terms

Revised terms may be posted at any time and take effect when published on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. The affected text will be narrowed only as required for enforcement.
